Food grade CO2 equipment

Beverage Carbonation and Filling Solutions

Category:
CO2 recovery plant

Product Overview

We provide customizable solutions for CO₂ recovery systems, with a capacity range from 100,000 Kt/a to 9,000,000 Kt/a. Our food-grade CO₂ recovery system is mainly used in breweries and alcohol production processes to recover CO₂ generated during fermentation.

Specifically, it is applied in breweries and alcohol plants to recover, purify, and liquefy CO₂ produced in the fermentation process, resulting in food-grade CO₂ (with a purity of 99.99%–99.998% and an oxygen content of ≤ 5 ppm).

  • Adopts high-quality international components, ensuring high reliability.
  • Features a stainless steel structure, offering corrosion resistance and long durability.
  • Provides one-stop design, manufacturing, and installation services for a complete service experience.
  • Equipped with PLC/DCS control, enabling high automation and remote monitoring capabilities.
  • Supports unattended operation, reducing labor costs.
Fermentation tail gas undergoes compression, condensation, drying, and purification to obtain food-grade CO₂, which is widely used in beverage carbonation, deoxygenated water preparation, and high-purity dilution processes.

CO₂ Source:

Food-grade CO₂ is usually derived from fermentation processes (such as alcohol fermentation) or certain industrial byproducts, as these sources yield CO₂ with higher purity and fewer impurities.

Gas Purification:

This is the critical stage in food-grade CO₂ production. The captured crude CO₂ gas undergoes a series of purification treatments to remove impurities that could compromise product quality and safety, such as sulfides, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, methanol, and odor-causing substances. Common purification methods include:

Scrubber: Washing with alkaline solutions (e.g., potassium carbonate) to remove acidic gases (e.g., hydrogen sulfide).

Activated Carbon Adsorption: Eliminating organic impurities and odors.

Drying: Removing moisture using molecular sieves or silica gel desiccants.

Distillation: Further separation and purification through distillation columns to meet food-grade standards.

Compression and Liquefaction:

Purified high-purity CO₂ gas is pressurized through multi-stage compressors, then enters a condenser where it is cooled and liquefied into liquid CO₂ using a cooling medium (e.g., ammonia, Freon).

Storage:

Liquid CO₂ is transferred to insulated storage tanks for subsequent use. These tanks incorporate pressure and temperature control systems to ensure stable storage and safe transportation of liquid CO₂.
